Escape Bot Level
This space is an area where the player would have to navigate past doctors in the game. As a tiny robot, they'd have to hide under chairs, tables, and carts to get around and find a way out.
I wanted to keep the space simple but also allow for me to build assets that I could show off.
The layout is pretty simple, just a couple of intersecting hallways. At the same time though, it was meant to give players opportunities to take different paths and hide in different spots.
In essence, keeping a linear pathing for them to follow, but choosing which way to do it.
Because the character is so small, I had to make sure the assets would look good at scale. I used high quality texture maps and materials to help with this, while also keeping my topology clean for in game use.
Even though I never created a game from my thesis trailer, it was still nice putting in the details to make these objects both fit in style and look realistic.
Once all the assets were modeled and textured, I was able to import them into Unreal. Unreal made lighting super easy, and allowed for nice reflection captures.
The reflection captures helped both with light bounces in the scene, and with the reflective mirror assets used at the ends of the hallway.
In building the assets, texturing them and making them Unreal ready, I felt that they were good assets to put on Sketchfab.
After doing some rearranging and uploading, they can now be purchased from my Sketchfab store!
